This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more The Nurse Recruiter is a professional Registered Nurse (RN) who is accountable to the Nurse Manager, Staffing and Resources. The RN works in collaboration with the Chief Nurses, Nurse Managers and Assistant Nurse Managers to create a positive work environment to enhance care delivery and professional development for clinical staff and advance practicing nurses. The RN position is located at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston SC within the Nursing Service Department. Develops programs to improve nursing care delivery and ongoing management of nursing recruitment and retention program Implements evidenced based nursing standards of practice Maintains account of staffing levels to project hiring needs of the department Coordinates the hiring process for nursing staff with the Human Resources department Identifies and coordinates discipline-specific education and training for professional staff development Assist with staffing methodology data to include review, collection, input and presentation Provides summaries of nursing personnel staffing levels, to include vacancy and turnover rates Guides RN and LPN applicants in developing letters of reference for validation of practice Places local, regional, and national classified advertisements in newspapers and professional journals for recruiting candidates in Nursing Service positions Promotes EEO Program and principles to all recruitment and retention activities Ensures the application of institutional policy and procedures in the recruitment process Manages the recruitment/retention program in an efficient and cost-effective manner to project budgetary needs Identifies shortages and evaluates possible options for positive outcomes in the recruitment/retention program Prepares reports and analyzes data to assure resources are used efficiently while providing quality care Collaborates with colleagues to develop, implement and evaluate educational based programs on staff learning needs Provides leadership to nurse managers, nursing leaders and staff in recruitment and retention Recommends qualified candidates to Managers/Supervisors and assists in arranging for performance based interviews Provides nurse managers relevant information on nurse recruitment trends compiled from nursing literature, Medical Center statistics and community sources RN Salary Range: Candidates education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected.
