We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis.
The PACU RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned Perianesthesia (pre- and post-op) patients. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure, and professional practice guidelines. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
This position will be working on a casual/as needed basis on the rotating day/evening shift, 8 hour shifts. The position is not eligible for benefits.
Provides exceptional care to pediatric and adult patients from culturally diverse populations prior to and immediately after surgical procedures.
Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
Develops an individualized nursing plan of care.
Implements nursing interventions based on the plan of care.
Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
Documents interventions according to practice guidelines.
Responds to emergent situations.
Coordinates nursing care and communicates effectively with all other members of the health care team.
Delegates direct and indirect patient care activities to appropriate personnel based on needs, condition, potential for risk/harm, complexity of the skill and predictability of the outcome.
Assures all actions are based on scientific, ethical or ecological principles; proven effectiveness; past experience; practice standards; patient/family requests and values; or legal parameters.
Initiates age and culturally appropriate measures to meet patient needs and achieve expected outcomes.
Communicates verbal and written information in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner appropriate to patient/family needs.
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

MN RN License. BSN preferred.
A minimum of two years current RN experience in Adult and/or Pediatric PACU is required.
BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required at time of hire or within six months of employment
Certification in a related specialty is highly desired.
