The Registered Nurse for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is an invaluable member of the Patient Care Services team. This department is a fast-paced environment that requires 24-hour staffing. the incumbent may be asked to work extended shifts, cover for emergencies, or to float to another clinical area to assist with staffing/patient care needs. This position is located in the Acute Care unit - (MICU) of Philadelphia VA Medical Center. Duties: Documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patients condition. Collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes. Providing a full range of nursing care to critically ill patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems. Accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of assigned grade. Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills which facilitate completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team. Work Schedule: 6- 12 Hour shifts with One 8 Hour Shift Per Pay Period. Night Shifts With Every Other Weekend if Needed. Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
