Alliance Cancer Specialists, the largest community-based oncology practice in Southeastern PA is seeking a per diem (PRN) Oncology Nurse for their Wynnewood location. We are seeking a compassionate and competent individual to provide exceptional patient care in our fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Organizes and participates in the provision of direct patient care, administers medications, and educates patients and families/caregivers
• Obtains and clarifies physician orders for plan of treatment, revisions, and informs physician promptly of significant changes in patient's condition
• Provides effective and safe teaching using patient-centered care approach for patient and family to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs through active participation per plan of treatment goals
• Effectively and timely communicates with Alliance's Clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care
• Prepares clinical documentation in real-time during visits and submit to comply with established timelines for billing
• Screens patients for appropriate information on each visit, recording as per Alliance standards
• Responds promptly and appropriately to patient requests. Initiates emergency procedures as necessary
• Accurately calculates doses and validates patient's plan of treatment on each visit
• Phlebotomy and completion of lab work as per OSHA and universal precautions, reporting of abnormal values
• Initiate peripheral IVs, IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications as per LPN state practice act
• Stocks supplies and disposes all expired items
• Accepts accountability for own practice through ethical and professional conduct. Follows established programs and practice within policies and procedures reflective of Alliance Cancer Specialists' mission, values and objectives
• Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Alliance information including adherence to HIPAA regulations.
• Attends and completes required training modules, in-services, and continuing education to maintain competency and professional licensure for demonstrated knowledge
• Must fully understand and comply with USP 800 and possible exposure to Hazardous Drugs

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years experience.
• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• Current RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.
