Alliance Cancer Specialists, the largest community-based oncology practice in Southeastern PA is seeking a per diem (PRN) Oncology Nurse for their Wynnewood location. We are seeking a compassionate and competent individual to provide exceptional patient care in our fast-paced environment.

Organizes and participates in the provision of direct patient care, administers medications, and educates patients and families/caregivers
Obtains and clarifies physician orders for plan of treatment, revisions, and informs physician promptly of significant changes in patient's condition
Provides effective and safe teaching using patient-centered care approach for patient and family to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs through active participation per plan of treatment goals
Effectively and timely communicates with Alliance's Clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care
Prepares clinical documentation in real-time during visits and submit to comply with established timelines for billing
Screens patients for appropriate information on each visit, recording as per Alliance standards
Responds promptly and appropriately to patient requests. Initiates emergency procedures as necessary
Accurately calculates doses and validates patient's plan of treatment on each visit
Phlebotomy and completion of lab work as per OSHA and universal precautions, reporting of abnormal values
Initiate peripheral IVs, IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications as per LPN state practice act
Stocks supplies and disposes all expired items
Accepts accountability for own practice through ethical and professional conduct. Follows established programs and practice within policies and procedures reflective of Alliance Cancer Specialists' mission, values and objectives
Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Alliance information including adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Attends and completes required training modules, in-services, and continuing education to maintain competency and professional licensure for demonstrated knowledge
Must fully understand and comply with USP 800 and possible exposure to Hazardous Drugs
At least 3 years experience.
Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
Current RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
Must maintain continuing education requirements.
